The clear, blue, shallow sea of Maldives

We take a end year break in Nov to Club Med Maldives (the deal is a great steal!)

Life goes back to basic there.
We take our own (sweet) time doing sports, eating, drinking, chatting, fish watching, resting (I mean sleeping), watching sun rise and sunsets, hang around the beach. No rush!
This is the first holiday whereby we are totally 'out of reach'. Turning off 3G and no Facebook for a week is 'shiok'! hahaha!

For me, I felt really really relax! In Singapore, I can never has the luxury to sleep for total of 12 hours a day (night sleep and mid day nap). I also tried out Yoga by the sea. Oh man! It's amazingly nice especially it was done at sunset. Hope to do it again if there is any here.

We walk around the island, looking at nice fishes and corals of variety. Water is too shallow to snorkel. But its good this way as we can take photo easily.
We are sad to see lots of dead corals. The global warming causing the water temperature to raise is the main reason for this :( Even at the Atoll, we see more dead than live. This trip really makes us feel that we have to be more environmentally friendly.

Yes, the photos... will be uploaded later (hopefully tomorrow) as its too many. hee..

This trip will complete our Indian ocean island tour. Moving forward, perhaps to go Tioman or Redeng (South China Sea)

Look forward to our next trip :D

In the mist of YOG in Spore

I remembered i was one of the joyful souls watching at the Padang, when Spore was choosen to be the venue of the 1st YOG!

I am proud about it all these while :)

Cheering for YOG Torch holder
On the 7th Aug, I saw the YOG flame from my house... wow, nice! But not enough, in 13th Aug, i was at orchard cheering for the torch holder.... very fun ;) And it could be the last time I came close to the holy flame.

Last Sat, when I saw the best of class chronograph at the floating stage in Marina for the opening ceremony, it was emotional. Yes, i was really impressed! On that particular night, we drove our Hong Kong friends to see the Olympic flame. Wow... it was amazing!

Singapore did well so far, proving the the sports school doing a good job to train our future sportsmen! How lucky i felt! Will I have taken the sportsmen route of being a Netball player if Sport School was there during my years... ...

Anyway, cannot turn back the clock already. So what can do best is to support team Spore all the way!

60hours Earth Day light off!

Yes, being a nature lover, I cannot be not taking part in this event.

Last year, I took the effort to stop operation fr 8pm. Lights off from 8pm to 10pm. This year I am taking the same approach again :)

I would strongly urge all that read my blog to do so too!

Being environmentally friendly is important to keep our world going!

Side note: Ant quoted sleep early can be environmental friendly too... how? off lights, off tv, off lappy... Hee... Of course no aircon! Interesting thought!

Everything is transparent now... Welcoming LTE (4G) technology

I went for the preso on LTE... the so-called 4G technology that will provide not only speedy download but more more multi-tasking. Meaning you can now play games and see movie seamlessly! Very interesting.. BUT... yet to heard anything from handset makers.

The preso presenter showed me this software in the end of the preso; Augmented Reality.. he told me already in the market... err... this is the first time to see it. Every movement is impressive. Why? When he lifted his phone up, I can see the names of the pubs nearby popping up, showing the different direction. With one tap on the name, it will bring you to the page whereby you see the pictures, location (how to get there) etc... I was like WOW!!! Yes, all these are by tagging.
Next he shown me the number of people whom have this software around the vicinity. You will be surprise how many people are 'publicly exposed'... there is even a lady whom tweeted like 12 minutes ago... got photo and location. You can also see if your friends is round you.

The evolution is so fast... you see how the world will be like in the near future... very near only... 2 years for this to happen! I am anticipating it! Where I can see my clients is near my place to open up my door for her :)

Window shopping with the folks

I have dated my folks to go window shopping yesterday.

Fun I will say. It's about catching up and exposing them to new things. But it's also about eating a lot :P

Talk about food, we went to these places... my folks are very happy with all!

1. Lunch East Ocean, Shaw Center
Not a new eating place but first time for us. Highly reommended by my friend whom have high food expectation - Ah Jing (never go wrong!)
Very nice tim sum.
No or minimum MSG - no thirsty feel after eating!

2. Coffee and Oreo CheeseCake for Teabreak at Blue Mountain Cafe, 313@Somerset
That place (previously) was where my folks complaint of birdsh*t during parking. Ha! My folks commented: "if we come here, we will be lost...!"
We were deciding between Ah Kun or Blue Mountain Cafe. Finally go for the 'ang mo' kopi.
Ordered Hazelnut coffee and Epthian Mocha coffee. Nice. The folks like the Hazelnut best.
The Orea CheeseCake came with delighting garnishing... my fave shape.. Heart. Plus point; not too sweet!

I took 5 shoots... all so blue.. dun know why...

3. Dinner at Ootoya, OC.
I always like OC. Long escalators, emptiness... not so good for retailers but good for shoppers like me. Hee! Folks like these features of the mall too.
My folks aren't young but always young at heart and like to have fun. I am proud of them as they are braver than some tourists whom are younger (pondering if they can take the long escalators)
My folks are very satisfied with the food at Ootoya. I think they missed Japan, like I did. They can remember the Japan, Ueno Ootoya that we went...haa...I guess because we waited super long for our food there and then :P
Best order: Hokkaido Kunbo sauce with Katsu Don - Rice is well fraganced with Kunbo sauce, Katsu Don well done!

If you are taking a day off, you might wanna try the above!

Cheers to good family times and food!

Entreprising spirit starts from young

New teaching in the chapter of growing up?

One client, whom is a strong supporter of blogs-shops told  me that she was surprised that the shop owners are same age as her daughter (abround 16-19 years old). She felt the relationship was amazing!

This become a connection with her daughter. She got her a domain name and blogspot.com... kinda got her a virtual shopfront. For merchanise, her daughter will have to do it herself. So is the marketing part. She also advocated the importance of owning business as a paper, no longer secure you a job.

i do not know if this is a norm, but I felt really nice when she told me about this. Different from other parents, she took a step further to teach her daughter to be self sufficient by running the business. No matter what comes out of it, the daughter will benefits much, and this becomes a bridge between them. I forsee that it will be a fun experience.

In this world where technology domains (to a certain extent), the so called generation gap, has been narrowed :)

Welcome New Decade 2010

Ant and myself usher into 2010 in our orange car.... how come? In a car jams to watch fireworks...hee!

Give Thanks to 2009

I got wanted to post this up before new year.. but was too busy mingling with customers and gatherings.

Seriously do not want to repeat the same words such as "times fly" etc etc... as its already so true!
2009 was much described as a year full of ups and downs... both economy and nature.
2009 was also considered one of the most eventful year of my life.

Starting Potpots organic skin care business move me closer to the cyberworld. The world wide web (www), bloggers (blogging), html (dun know learn....) and internet maketing... The information was too overwhelm! Almost drowned..hahah... but fun la!
Brand building is definitely not an easy task, takes time and persistence. This makes me kowtao to the superbrands such as Sony, Nokia etc.
I am a grateful to my partner for her guidance. She is definitely a much more better business woman from me.
Skin Needs launched sport massage services in May. Glad that my clients find the sport massage useful and I am able to ease their tense muscles in all the Shape, Standard Charter Run. *proud*
I met many new clients (turn friends) in 2009. Thank you for sharing with me the happenings around you. I have learnt a lot from you.

I tried my hands on some other business too such as trading. A much simpler one. Maybe I should start this too?

Another person to give thanks to is Ant. He is the great supporter in all my business, coming from all aspects, morally and logistically. I am lucky to have him as around me, not many business person have supportive family members*Big Kiss*

Now I look back (with a smile), its not as bad la. All the endless learnings are great enrichment for life. Knowledge is something you gain and never get steal or vanish!

Thank you 2009!

A little effort in recycling for Xmas

In this season of giving, like many, I am also wrapping gifts for friends, family and clients.

As a strong supporter green movement, I am always busy looking for ways to reduce wastage through somehow, or some ways. *Proud*

This year, I chose to recycle the Hershey's chocolates colourful packaging! This is what I did.
1. Cut the chocolate packaging to size
2. Tape up to form a little bags
3. Put in the chocolates and lollipops
4. Close and Tight up with golden ribbon

And you have it! Nice, colourful gift packs with least wastage. My friends love them due to the unique packaging... like no other!

Save the earth while you can with a little creative thoughts :)
